The text and pictures can stand alone but they sit together well, one explaining the other. A she is on a trip. We join her outside of Lake Charles. The pictures are objects in her environment. The narrative is experience. It accumulates in a cubist way, each set--photo and narrative on facing pages--a different facet. Deep in the process in a place called Quantum, Alabama represented by a trailer home in the middle distance with a truncated picket fence in the foreground she is asked by a highway patrolman what was happening. That may be the point: we seem to know but do we?
